IMPORTANT NOTES

For each student applying please provide the following:

1. $15.00 non-refundable application fee; payment in check form only – no cash or credit cards will be accepted; checks should be made payable to "Collin College";

2. Audition form (all actors and technicians should complete this form);

3.. Tech form (only technicians will complete this form);

4. Optional 1 page resumé.  ONE PAGE ONLY!!!  Extra pages will NOT be copied.  No headshots please.

All forms and payment for your Top Four students MUST be received in advance in order to be included in the auditions.  Please note: the participation fee is non-refundable.

NOTE:  No substitutes may be made for the Auditions, so be sure that the students who you list are the ones who will be attending.  Student must present a picture ID at check-in.  Any unmatched students will be placed on Stand-by list (see below).

Students on your Stand-by list MUST submit completed paperwork by Friday October 15.  Please do NOT submit payments for these students, as we cannot guarantee them an audition slot. (If you choose to send in stand-by payments and we are unable to work the student(s) in, that money will be non-refundable).  If we are able to work in students from your Stand-by list, we will contact you.  Payment for those students will then be due ASAP, but no later than the day of the auditions.

Due to the high demand to participate in the North Texas Drama Auditions, new parameters have been instituted Incomplete packets will be returned to the Instructor and will have to be resubmitted by the 5:00 PM Friday October 15th deadline.  So please check over the packet prior to mailing it in.  Failure to do so may mean losing slots for ALL your students!  Extensions will not be made for packets that are not returned in time.  The sooner you get your packet in, the more likely we will be able to work your students in.  Please MAIL or hand deliver your packets.  Do NOT fax them.  Remember, all packets must be in my possession by 5:00 PM Friday October 15.  No Exceptions!!!

Technician Note: All Technician/Design/Stage Management/Directing students are permitted to display their work (i.e. prompt books, sketches, costume pieces, plots, etc.) on one 2'-0" X 5'-0" table top in the lobby outside the Conference Center.  The College Reps will have an opportunity to stop by and review the displays, and will engage in a dialogue with your students in the hour directly before and after our lunch break.  The specific “time” for your Technical/Design student(s) to interact with the College Reps will be between 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.  Students should plan to keep their displays up until then.

Your Technician/Design students MUST complete and submit the Tech Form, as well as the Audition Form required for all Actors and Actor/Singers.... and your Technician/Design students DO count towards your four allotted auditionees.

Actor/Singer Note: A warm-up room for Actors and Actor/Singers will be provided in the John Anthony Theatre (C100).  Students not in the warm-up area when called to line-up for the audition will be skipped over.  No exceptions!  Once in the audition room, state your name and audition pieces before beginning your audition.  Your time limit of 1˝ minute will be strictly enforced!

A piano accompanist will be provided for Actor/Signer auditions.  Students should bring their sheet music in the correct key with notations clearly indicated.  ALL singers MUST sing with the accompanist.  NO cassette/CD player will be available, and no a capella performances are permitted.  This request comes directly from the College Reps, who want to hear students sing with live accompaniment.

NOTE: These are requests from the College Reps to help with your audition planning - Students should present contrasting pieces to showcase their range.  If they are planning to sing, they should only perform 16 bars from each song.  Please perform the pieces that you wrote in on the Audition Form.  (The College Reps have commented negatively every year about students changing their pieces from what they wrote on their form.)  Please include SAT and ACT scores.

If you have any questions, please contact Brad Baker at 972 881-5679; bbaker@collin.edu.
