|
Jason
Stuart is a multi-talented artist.
Jason began his collegiate studies at Collin and received his Bachelor’s degree from
Texas Wesleyan University. He now works professionally as an actor, director,
playwright, composer and musician. Jason has worked extensively with
Audacity Productions; on such projects as Samuel Beckett’s Waiting
for Godot, Tangram (which Jason wrote and starred in), and Slick
Kadmon vs. God – which was invited to perform at the New York
International Fringe Festival. Jason
directed that production. As an actor, he has worked on pieces as
wide-ranging as the controversial God’s Country, the musical
A New Brain, and the experimental performance-art project The
Monologuist. Jason’s original play, Through a Glass Onion,
won the 2000 National Student Playwriting competition of the American
College Theater Festival, and was published by Dramatic Publishing
Company. The play premiered
at Quad C Theatre, co-starring two future Hall-of-Fame inductees, Meredith McCoy
and Laura Bailey. One of Jason's monologues from Through a
Glass Onion was subsequently published in the annual Smith and Kraus
monologue anthology, "Best Women's Stage Monologues of 2001."
That book also contains monologues by Nicky Silver, Jane Martin, Kenneth
Lonnergan, and Horton Foote! Jason is also an accomplished singer
and bass player. He
performed incidental music for the Quad C Theatre production of Julius
Caesar, and can be seen performing in New York's Central Park! His
musical play, Busker, was recently work-shopped at the Lincoln
Center Directors Lab. His latest play -
Washing Machine - opened to rave reviews. |
