Felicia
joined the Collin College Theatre Department in 1997, and immediately
became a leader. Merging her love of dance and theatre, she appeared as
a dancing harem girl in THE APPLE TREE. She next appeared in the
comedy LAUGHTER ON THE 23rd FLOOR, playing a naïve
secretary to a team of insane television writers. During her time at
Quad C, Felicia worked on many shows backstage, and worked as a student
assistant in the Costume Shop for two years. But her crowning
achievement was a production entitled a play without words, which
Felicia wrote, choreographed and directed. That production won her the
1998 Quad C Theatre Awards for Outstanding Direction and Outstanding
Production. That same year, Felicia was honored as our Most Improved
Theatre Student. She was accepted into the Law Program at the
University of Texas at Austin, where she also continued her love of
dance by performing on the University of Texas Dance Team. In 2001, she
graduated as a “College Scholar” and received her Bachelors Degree in
History with honors from the College of Liberal Arts. She earned her
law degree with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in
2005 and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas that same year. Felicia
began to practice law in Dallas as an associate at Hughes & Luce, a
highly respected law firm. Her law partners expected great things from
her. Sadly, on August 17, 2007, she lost her life in an automobile
accident on the way to her brother’s wedding. Felicia’s family has
established a scholarship in her name: The Felicia Marie Wilems Lee
Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded each year to the
Most Promising Outgoing Theatre Student; a student, who, like Felicia,
excelled during their time at the College, and who, like Felicia, is
certain to make a significant mark in their profession. |
