Craig "Yo"
Erickson has been the Director of Technical Theatre and resident
designer for the Collin College Theatre Department since 1989. He was a
nominee in 2004 for the prestigious Wally Russell Award; given annually
to the top lighting designers and educators in the world! Craig
was also nominated for the 2004 Stage Directions Educator of the
Year Award! Craig's background
in theatre includes a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, five
years as Technical Director at Richland College, and three years as
Technical Director and Scenic Designer at The Albuquerque Civic Light
Opera. He has acted in over 40 stage productions, TV commercials, and
feature films; including Young Guns, Flesh and Bone (with Meg
Ryan and Dennis Quaid), The Stars Fell on Henrietta (with Robert
Duvall, Aidan Quinn and Brian Dennehy), and "Walker: Texas Ranger." Craig appeared in
the Academy Award winning drama Boys Don't Cry (with Oscar winner
Hilary Swank), and can be seen
as the Deputy in the acclaimed western, American Outlaws,
starring Colin Farrell, Scott Caan and Ali Larter. He can be seen
in the film, The Alamo, with Jason
Patric, Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Quaid. Craig was awarded
the Kennedy
Center Lighting Fellowship, and studied at the
Kennedy Center with Broadway lighting designer Beverly Emmons.
