Collin College Performing Arts
Facilities
Food and Drink Policy
In this policy, the performance or event
director or other responsible party will be referred to as “director.”
The performer, presenter, lecturer, or student worker will be referred to
as “performer.” The
performance, rehearsal, lecture, or event will be referred to as “event.”
- Food or drink of any kind is prohibited in the
audience seating area.
- For all events in the JAT or Black Box, all performers
may have sports-top bottled water in the theatre’s stage area
only. A table will be
provided in the backstage hallway for food and other drink items needed
during the rehearsal.
- The director is solely responsible for communicating
this policy to the performers.
- The director and the event house manager are
responsible for ensuring that these policies are effectively followed
before, during, and after events; and that the authority of the theatre
manager is respected with regard to facility maintenance.
- If a violation occurs, the theatre manager will inform
the director at an appropriate time, and the director will address the
responsible parties as soon as possible during the event.
In the event of an immediate threat to equipment or the theatre
facility (i.e. water is observed sitting on the grand piano, or on a piece
of electrical equipment, etc.), the theatre manager may immediately remove
the hazard. The theatre manager
will then report this incident to the director at the first appropriate
moment.
- After a violation occurs, the theatre manager will
inform the Department Chair and the Dean by email.
- If repeated violations occur, the Dean will take any
necessary actions to prevent further occurrence. These may include loss of privileges for students,
groups, or ensembles.
