The Collin Theatre
Center
continues our annual summer tradition of staging one of
William Shakespeare's greatest plays.
A delightful family event that makes Shakespeare accessible to everyone!
This year we will present the romantic comedy, The
Two Gentlemen of Verona. The plot of the play centers around
Valentine and Proteus, the two gentlemen of Verona, who travel to Milan
and learn about the world of courtship. They are best friends. But love
for the same woman comes between them. Using the ploy of disguises, true
love prevails and the friends are reconciled and look to share 'one
mutual happiness.' The Two Gentlemen of Verona is
considered one of Shakespeare's earliest plays.
Directed by Gail Cronauer (Twelfth Night, A Midsummer
Night's Dream) and Joanne Zipay, Artistic Director of the Judith
Shakespeare Company in New York City. June 17 – 27, 2010. Black
Box Theatre.
